Aqua Awareness Instructor (Part-time)
Recreation Services is looking for enthusiastic individuals who are interested in instructing the Aqua Percept gym/swim program. The Aqua Percept program offers a gym/swim experience for children who may have difficulty participating in regular programmed physical activities. Aqua Percept is designed for children who may experience attention deficits, perceptual motor difficulties, poor coordination and social anxieties. The Aqua Percept program uses fun games and activities to develop agility, balance, coordination and speed. Aqua Percept also works on developing social skills that are necessary to access present and future leisure activities. Following the 30 minute gym program, we spend a half hour in the pool, developing swimming and water safety skills. No formal training is required, but those holding a Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certification or experience working with children in a gym environment is preferred.
Pay: $12.50 (per hour) Excluded Non Bargaining Unit
Hours of Work: Aqua Percept – Fridays 3:30-4:30pm

Recreation Services is looking to expand our fitness team. We will be looking for the following instructors to start teaching programs this fall/winter:
Land Fitness – Group and/or circuit based fitness classes for adults/teens.
3rd Age Fitness – Group and/or circuit based fitness classes for older adults with various health and mobility issues.
Water Fitness – Drop in and registered Aquafit classes for generally healthy adults/teens.
Water Therapy – drop in Aqua Therapy classes offered for those needing some extra therapy in a water based environment.
Weights/Strength Training – group and/or circuit based fitness classes for adults and older adults held in our Fitness Gym.
We strive for high quality programs that are safe, effective and Fun! Our Fitness Staff have the necessary qualifications, certifications, education and training to lead these classes. Once you’ve got an idea, send us a proposal package, which includes filling out the ⇒Program Proposal Form COMPLETELY – and submit it along with your resume and any relevant certificates.
