Playschool Gym at the Vernon Recreation Centre

Recreation Services offers Playschool programs for children aged 6 & under. Our programs will benefit participants by providing a place for social interaction with peers, building self-esteem and self-confidence, and developing independence, in a safe and caring environment. We offer theme and skill focused activities that use fine and gross motor skills, which are essential keys in stimulating a child's physical, social and mental development.

At playschool gym we sing songs, play games, race around on ride-em toys, climb, slide, and do crafts. It may look like the kids are just playing, but there is much more going on! Kids learn to share, make new friends, and use both their imagination and their muscles while playing.

Whether it's a chance to play with your little one in one of our Parent & Tot programs or you are looking to give your child some independence by allowing them to stay and play on their own we have the program that's right for you.

All classes follow BC Recreation and Park Preschool Guidelines and are supervised by our great Playschool Staff. All staff have completed the High Five Principles of Healthy Child Development Workshop, are certified Mother Goose program facilitators, and hold their First Aid Certificates. Our playschool sport program sessions are taught by certified instructors and coaches for Gymnastics, Skating, Soccer and Swimming.

Tiny Tots "a building block to your child's future"

Tiny Tots Licenced Preschool 3-4 yrs (born 2007 & 2008)
Tiny Tots offers your child a variety of unique experiences in a licensed Preschool setting with ECE qualified, dedicated and caring staff. The program is designed to develop your child's sensory and perception skills, as well as to provide a positive environment for building social relationships with other children. Your child will participate in gluing, painting, music, games, story time, ABC's and 123's, field trips, cooking experiences, physical activities, socializing with other children and more. Participants in our 4 year old only classes will also experience the Fun Family Phonics, a colourful and interactive program designed to help teach your child to read.
These preschool classes start in September.

First months payment due at time of registration and is not refundable.

Lavington Preschool

Lavington Preschool is an inclusive preschool program for 3 & 4 yr olds. We provide a rich and stimulating preschool environment where your child is given lots of opportunities to develop play and social skills.

Programs for 3 yr olds are held Tues & Thurs from 9-11am.
Programs for 4 yr olds are held Mon, Wed & Fri from 9-11:30 am.

Activities for both age groups include visual and dramatic arts, stories, songs, pre-writing, pre-math and cooperative games. We use the gym everyday to help develop gross motor skills.

The Lavington Preschool is located in Lavington Elementary school, 9715 School Road in Lavington.
