The Aquatic Centre consists of two pools. There is a 25 metre, 8 lane pool for lap swimming and a separate free-form leisure pool. In addition, the facility provides a steam room, sauna, whirlpool, waterslide, one metre diving board, rope swing, climbing wall and lots of other fun things for the whole family. There is also a fitness gym adjacent to the pool which has a wide range of cardio and weight lifting equipment. The temperature in the lap pool is kept at 27 C, which is just right for laps. The leisure pool is kept at 30 C for the comfort of all ages. The hot tub is kept at 40 C. The leisure pool goes from 0.3 metres to 1.06 metres in depth. The lap pool starts at 1.2 metres and goes to a depth of 3.5 metres.

General Pool Info

  • 6 yrs & under must be accompanied by a responsible person 16 yrs or older, and must be within arms reach at all times.
  • Persons 12 yrs & under who are using the sauna or steam room must be accompanied by a responsible person 16 yrs or older.
  • Lifejackets are available for rent at the front desk for $1 or bring your own.
  • Lockers available @ $0.25
  • The Pool and Fitness Gym are now fragrance-free areas.

Learn to Swim with us

Public Swim
Both pools will be open and on a rotation basis, the climbing wall, diving board, rapids channel, bubble pit, raindrop, rope swing & slide will be available. Sauna, steamroom & hot tub always open. The lap pool will have a min of 1 lane open for lap swimming.

Loonie Toonie Swim
A public swim at a bargain price! The lap pool will have 3 lanes open for lap swimming. Adults: $2 Youth: $1

Limited Use
Most facilities will be open, but both pools will be shared with organized instructional programs. Slide, rope swing & diving board may not operate during these times.

Lap & Leisure
Lap pool available to the public for laps, water walking or running. Diving board and rope swing not available. Full use of hot tub, steam room, sauna, and leisure pool. Slide available on a limited basis.

Family
Means members of an immediate family. Max 2 adults & children under 19 years who are immediate family members.

Preschool
Means children 3-6 years. Children 2 and under admitted free of charge.

Discount for People with Disability

Disabled
Persons having a permanent disability which would limit his/her abilities to fully use the facility. The “Medical Referral for Disability Discount” form can be obtained from the office and completed by your physician. Eligible persons will receive a 25% discount.

Financial Disability
Persons who are receiving financial assistance from one of the following provincial or federal programs may receive a 75% discount on select programs(*):

  • Regular Income Assistance Benefits
  • Persons with disabilities (PWB)
  • Persons with persistent and multiple barriers (PPMB)
  • Canadian Pension disabilities (CPPD)
  • Guaranteed Income Supplement for Seniors (GIS)

*Select programs include: Public swim, drop-in public skate and fitness gym, playschool classes, drop in and punch cards for morning aquafit classes, all aqua therapy classes and sports drop-in programs.

  • Must be at least 13 years old to be in Fitness Gym
  • 13 to 16 yrs must go through a Fitness Gym Orientation prior to using gym
  • Clean shoes & shirt are mandatory

Personal Orientations
If you are just starting out or are looking to step up your exercise program we can help! Our qualified fitness instructor will work one on one with you to help you advance or to teach you the basics.

  • Adult:
    2 sessions for $60, includes two 1 hr. sessions
  • Youth (13-16 yrs):
    1 session for $40, includes one 1 hr orientation and a 1 month Get Active Pass

Aqua Awareness Programs

Aqua Dapt - Any Age
This program is offered for those that require a 1:1 ratio, whether the concern be physical, sensory, intellectual or a combination of challenges. Exercises and movement techniques will be offered by the instructor in the pool.

Children $80 / Adults $110 + tax

Aqua Percept 4-14 years
We offer lessons specifically designed for children who are non-participating or uncomfortable in any regular physical activity. The child may have attention deficits or perceptual motor problems, needing help with social interaction, but is not hampered by physical or sensory disabilities. The gym and pool sessions will emphasize gross motor activities involved in climbing, safe use of equipment and will include a swim lesson and games. Aqua Percept is a national program that offers physical movement for the remediation of motor problems in children. A 3:1 ratio will be implemented to encourage personalized instruction.

Being active for 20-30 minutes each day will contribute to your improved health.

Aqua Awareness Workshop
If you are interested in volunteering or instructing in our Aqua Percept or AquaDapt programs, this workshop is for you. Guest speakers will give you an insight into learning disabilities, swim progressions, safe use of gym equipment and an in depth look at the Aqua-Percept Program and its goals. Dates and times to be announced.


Masters Swim Club

masters swimmerParticipate in the Masters swim group and get fit under the supervision of experienced coaches. 5 days of training:

  • Fri 6:30am-7:30am or 7:30am-8:30am

Scuba for Kids

Scuba StarsScuba for Kids
SASY provides children with foundation skills to become recreational divers. Supplied Air Snorkeling is easy to learn & loads of FUN for kids and teens. Prerequisites: Participants must be at least 6 yrs of age and weigh a minimum of 18 kg (40 lbs) and have a swimming ability of SK 2.

Scuba Stars This innovative 2 dive program introduces kids to scuba using the SASY system. SASY divers float safely and comfortably on the surface, breathing from an uninterrupted air supply just like scuba divers!

Kayak Play Time

Kayak Play Time
Come get accquainted with your kayak. Practice paddling and rolls in the comfort of a heated pool! Develop a network with other local paddlers. MUST bring own kayak.
