Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu 14+ years
Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu is a self defense oriented martial art
based on the 9 school of traditional Japanese Martial Arts
held by Dr. Masaaki Hatsumi. Taijutsu employs the use of
distance, angling, leverage and timing to unbalance and defeat
an attacker. The art is non-competitive. Training is done
in a relaxed environment with students participating at their
own pace and comfort level. Classes are taught by black belt
instructors Ken Hospes and Tim Brassard, both have been
training in the art since 1993.

Drop-in soccer has a change in location for the months May and June. We will be running the program at Graham Park until summer on Sundays only from 10am-noon. In the summer it will run both Friday evenings and Sunday mornings and will be held at Marshall Fields. |
Drop-in Ball Hockey
Be one of the first 25 to show up or you’ll miss out on some
of the most fun you’ll have this summer. No elbow or shin
pads allowed but gloves are highly recommended. Goalies
play for free.
Drop in Ball Hockey will run Mon & Wed from
Apr 19 until Aug 30 at the Civic Arena from 8:30-10:00pm.

Slo-Pitch
Women’s Fun League 16 yrs & over
This league focuses on getting out and
having fun rather than the competitiveness
of the game.
Included in the registration costs: game
balls, rule book, membership in Slo-Pitch
National which covers players with accident
and liability insurance, one umpire
per game, field costs. Most games are played Wednesday
nights except for three games which will be played in a weekend
tournament atmosphere. Teams must supply their own
equipment. Register on a team basis.

Fly Casting
This is an introductory course in fly fishing and fly casting.
The course covers equipment, knots, finding fish, local entomology
and casting. No equipment is needed for the first

Rollerblading/Rollerskating
Drop-In Public Rollerblading/Rollerskating will be offered at the Wesbild centre from 12:00-1:30pm on Mon & Wed starting May 17th. The drop in is for skating only so no sticks or balls or other projectiles will be permitted. Public skating rates will apply. Come check it out and keep in shape for the spring/summer. |

Morning Social Tennis Club
To register, players must understand the rules of the game and
know how to keep proper score. A new format will be initially
tried this year. Players will be evaluated during the first week
and assigned to one of two time slots. The new format will
undergo an evaluation within a few weeks of implementation to
determine how to proceed for the rest of the season.

Beach Tennis NEW
Check out this hybrid sport that has
been all the rave throughout Europe
and now the US. Beach tennis merges
the worlds of tennis and beach volleyball
into one exciting new sport that is
simple to play and appeals to athletes
and non-athletes of all ages. Junior tennis
rackets will be used until such time
as participation warrants the purchase
of proper beach tennis paddles so bring
one if you have one (we have some
available).
Teams register in groups of 4 (2 guys/2 girls) and a king of the
court system will be used to ensure that you end up playing
against players of similar ability.

A fast paced & fun variation on our most popular sport. It’s
co-ed so it’s sure to be fun. A “King of the Court” system will
be used and ensures that you play against others with similar
skills.

Sand:
It doesn’t get any funner than this! For teams that are
trying to bump, set & spike but are glad if the ball goes over
the net. You know who you are!
Surf:
For teams with a lower skill level that are trying to use
a basic system & try blocking & spiking but the results aren’t
always spectacular.
Surf 35+:
For teams at the surf level that have a few more
miles on their odometer. All players must be 35 years of age & over. They say it’s not the years; it’s the mileage! Please
indicate that all players are 35+ plus when registering your
team. We will take 8 teams on Monday and Wednesday nights
for this division.
Sun:
For teams with good skills that use a basic system with
blocking and spiking. |
