Pole Walking - Introduction Clinic
If you’re new to Nordic Walking this is the best way to find out what it’s all about! During this one hour introduction, you will learn how to choose the correct length pole for you, how to strap in and how to take the first basic steps toward a FULL BODY WORKOUT. This session is enough for you to start practicing Nordic Walking on your own and it is much more fun than regular walking!

Bosu - Advanced Conditioning
Training on a BOSU requires you to maintain your centre of gravity over a dynamic, ever changing surface. This intermediate/ advanced level fitness class will add a sense of fun and play into your conditioning program. Enhance functional movement and sports performance. Great for skiers, runners, swimmers, cyclists and all team sports. Participants must have a good level of fitness. This class is not recommended for persons with back, hip or knee problems.

Vernon Tennis Association (VTA) Recreation Services is again partnering with the Vernon Tennis Association. The VTA was started in October 2008 to advocate for tennis within the Vernon area and to offer both competitive and social programs to players of all skill levels. A VTA 2010 membership makes you eligible to receive a 15% discount on registration for one Recreation Services tennis program or lesson set subject to space availability. Morning Social Tennis Club
To register, players must understand the rules of the game and know how to keep proper score. A new format will be initially tried this year. Players will be evaluated during the first week and assigned to one of two time slots. The new format will undergo an evaluation within a few weeks of implementation to determine how to proceed for the rest of the season. Location: Marshall Field

Beach Tennis NEW
Check out this hybrid sport that has been all the rave throughout Europe and now the US. Beach tennis merges the worlds of tennis and beach volleyball into one exciting new sport that is simple to play and appeals to athletes and non-athletes of all ages. Junior tennis rackets will be used until such time as participation warrants the purchase of proper beach tennis paddles so bring one if you have one (we have some available). Teams register in groups of 4 (2 guys/2 girls) and a king of the court system will be used to ensure that you end up playing against players of similar ability. Sand:
It doesn’t get any funner than this! For teams that are trying to bump, set & spike but are glad if the ball goes over the net. You know who you are!

Surf:
For teams with a lower skill level that are trying to use a basic system & try blocking & spiking but the results aren’t always spectacular.

Surf 35+:
For teams at the surf level that have a few more miles on their odometer. All players must be 35 years of age & over. They say it’s not the years; it’s the mileage! Please indicate that all players are 35+ plus when registering your team. We will take 8 teams on Monday and Wednesday nights for this division.

Sun:
For teams with good skills that use a basic system with blocking and spiking.
