Welcome to Greater Vernon Parks, Recreation & Culture
Recreation Services – Helping you get active! |
|
One of the Olympic initiatives leading up to the games was to make British Columbians 20% more active by 2010. Parks, Recreation and Culture has been playing an important role in helping achieve that goal by offering a variety of opportunities for children, teens, adults and seniors; people of all income levels and people with disabilities. One of the benefits of living in the Greater Vernon area is the variety of activities that we have to offer. So, whether it’s indoors dancing, lifting weights, swimming, fencing, taking an aqua fit class or it’s outside kayaking, rock climbing, gardening or playing tennis, make this your time to get active! Recreation helps keep us all healthier and happier. The friendly staff at Recreation Services is available to answer any questions you may have regarding our programs and activities. Contact us; we can help you get active!
In this guide you will notice that we have indicated that the prices shown are before taxes. This is due to the pending implementation of the HST. As the Provincial Government continues to define what services will and won’t be effected by the new tax we ask for and appreciate your understanding during this transitional phase.
